This year Gamers Outreach Foundation is teaming up with Michigan's
largest multi-annual PC LAN event MPcon (http://www.mpcon.org) to bring you
Gamers for Giving! A 3 day straight charity gaming event which aims
to raise over $7,500 dollars to help families and kids who struggle
with Autism. All profits from the event will be donated to the Autism
Society of Washtenaw County, a local branch of the Autism Society of
America. The event is a 3 day straight PC LAN, combined with a 2vs2
Halo 3 tournament.
Activities Include:
3 day straight PC LAN beginning on Friday Feb 29th at 2:00 PM EST and
ending on Sunday March 2nd at 10:00 AM EST.
Yes, 3 days of PC Gaming. Bring your PC and plug in with over 250
other gamers!! Various PC tournaments will be taking place throughout
the weekend, here's what you need to bring...
Computer with network card
Monitor
Power Cables
25' long ethernet cable (Cat5 / Cat5e / Cat6)
Headphones (no speakers allowed)
Software (Game CDs, Windows CDs, Drivers etc)
Sleeping bag / pillow (if you plan on sleeping on the floor...)
Money for food and hotel if you plan on it
Snacks
General PC LAN rules...
Drugs and Alcohol are strictly prohibited
Open Containers will not be allowed into the room. Only un-opened
sealed containers will be allowed.
Bags and coolers will be inspected for opened containers
Smoking indoors is prohibited. Outside doors shall remaind closed.
Cigarettes must be disposed of properly.
Please use the main doors to the room. The other doors are for
emergencies only.
No cheating on public servers
No "hacking". Using other attendees' equipment without their
permission is prohibited.
We advise all attendees to run up-to-date anti-virus software. If you
believe your PC has been infected with a virus of any kind, you must
immediately disconnect the PC from the network. If network
administrators discover your machine is infected, you will be
disconnected from the network until the issue is resolved.
Attendees are responsible for keeping their area clean.
2vs2 Xbox 360 Halo 3 Tournament beginning Saturday March 1st at 11:00
AM EST
On Saturday March 1st we'll be hosting a 64 team double elimination
Halo 3 tournament. $1000.00 will be awarded to the winning team, and
$500.00 will be awarded to the team that finishes in 2nd place.
Game Settings
Because of various equipment needs, the first round of the tournament
will be single elimination. Once your team makes it past the first
round, you will be allowed up to 1 loss before being eliminated from
the tournament, (standard double elimination bracket rules apply).
Round Time = 15 Minutes
Game Type= Slayer
Other rules / settings have yet to be determined
Halo 3 participants younger than 17 must have a parental consent
form, (consent form will soon be available for download).

Participants have the choice to be a part of the PC LAN, the Halo 3
tournament, or both! It costs $25.00 per person to enter the PC LAN,
$25.00 per person to enter the Halo 3 tournament, ($50.00 per team)
or you can enter both for a discounted price of $40.00.

Gamers for Giving will be held at the new Eastern Michigan University
Student Center (http://www.emich.edu/studentcenter/). Participants
are welcome to stay the night at the facility, (bring a sleeping
bag!) however we are currently in the process of negotiating some
special room rates with local hotels. More information will be posted
soon.
Additional Happenings
We're currently working with a number of sponsors wo will be setting
up display booths / stands at the event. Expect some incredible
raffle prizes; give aways, special guests, and much more! Information
